"Jesus loves me, this I know,
for the Bible tells me so...

Not that there`s anything wrong about it, but perhaps that song is not the whole story. Yes - Jesus loves me. And you. And the person who cut you off turning onto Rock Road. And the store clerk who was rude to you. And the people living in lofts downtown and the people sleeping on the streets beneath them. He loves every single one of us and nothing changes that. As another song says, nothing can separate us from the love of God.

So here we are, starting this sacred time of the church calendar - Lent - on the day that many of us celebrate the love we have for one another. Know that on this Valentine`s Day, Jesus loves you and all of us. He may not send you a $7 card from Hallmark, but he`s given you something more important - his life and his sacrifice. It`s that love Jesus has for all of us that we`ll examine in the following pages.
