Music
Music is central to our life of worship. Reformation Lutheran Church embraces the full spectrum of song, regularly including a blend of traditional and new hymns, global song, liturgical chant and contemporary worship and praise music. Some of our favorite resources include liturgies and hymns from Evangelical Lutheran Worship, With One Voice and Holden Evening Prayer.
A 1996 Berghaus pipe organ and Yamaha grand piano help center the music at our traditional worship moments, while the Rise ensemble, fueled by piano, guitar, percussion and vocalists, lead the 8:30 service. Please see the Services page for a more detailed description of our worship services.
Parish Choir
The Parish Choir sings regularly in worship, September through May, leading liturgy and providing music for reflection from a variety of styles and traditions. All adults and high school students who enjoy singing with others are welcome to participate.
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir plays each month, September through May, and includes new and experienced ringers. Both meditative and playful music take on new life when played with our Schulmerich handbells and Malmark handchimes.
Rise Ensemble
The Rise Ensemble, made up of piano, guitar, percussion and vocalists, leads our Sunday 8:30 a.m. Rise worship with hymns, global song, and praise music. Musicians of all ages and abilities are invited to be part of this group.
Special Music
Vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles often share their musical skills in worship with preludes, offerings, liturgy and other music for reflection. During the summer months, these musicians provide worship leadership while the choirs take a break. A professional brass ensemble often participates on festivals such as Easter, Pentecost and Reformation Sunday.
